My favourite takeaways from OFFSET 2014

Still coming down from three days of OFFSET, was lucky enough to see some exceptional speakers and walked away feeling a little exhausted but very inspired to work a lot harder. These are some of the speakers I found particularly inspiring and what I took away from the 3 magical days. I was really looking forward to Jessica Walsh from Sagmesiter and Walsh, and she didn't disappoint. Play was one of the main themes of the talk with the idea that work and play time enriches the work that we do, play being a state of mind where we feel creative, focused or alive. Jessica Hische talk in Dublin

Recently I was lucky enough to go to OFFSET, a truly inspiring graphic design conference in Dublin. Lighthouse Cinema Re-opens

It was a great loss to Dublin back in April 2011 when the Lighthouse cinema closed it's doors. At long last the Smithfeild cinema complex by DTA architects is reopening. Going to the Lighthouse was a cinematic experience, walking through rooms which play with varying degrees of  light, colour and space with seating area tucked away inside crevices. Built inside an underground car park, the former car ramps are now spacious hallways where sharp angles are offset by brightly coloured cushioned seating.
